CGHSR Scholar
Lily Bastian, MSN, APRN, CNM, is a second-year PhD student at the University of Minnesota's School of Nursing. Her CGHSR Scholar project is entitled, "Understanding Resilience Factors of Ugandan Young People Living with HIV (YPLHIV) Transitioning to Adult and Maternal Healthcare."
"A better understanding of potential mitigating factors that buffer the experiences of young people living with HIV in Uganda including social support, coping strategies, and other psychosocial factors will be a meaningful contribution to HIV research. Addressing this knowledge gap will inform intervention science that could help bolster the resiliency of future YPLHIV and empower them to apply these abilities to adult/maternal health and wellness."
