The Center for Global Health and Social Responsibility presented at a training hosted by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in May that emphasized effective communication, training and professional development strategies. 

Global Health in Local Contexts, a course offered by the Center for Global Health and Social Responsibility, offers perspectives on local health care dynamics and their implications on the broader, global community. 

Advocacy for Global Health Partnerships, a coalition co-founded by Center for Global Health and Social Responsibility Executive Director Shailey Prasad, hosted an event during the World Health Assembly in May that promoted bidirectionality and ethics in global health engagements.

The Center for Global Health and Social Responsibility recently facilitated back-to-back two-day trainings in East Africa that provided hands-on instruction for United Nations Migration Agency (IOM) physicians.

Center for Global Health and Social Responsibility Director of Global Women’s Health Rahel Nardos, MD, MCR, discussed disparities in maternal health during a recent interview on Kare 11 as part of the network’s coverage of Minority Health Month, which takes place in April. 

Three collaborators from the Center for Global Health and Social Responsibility (CGHSR) were senior and contributing authors on a recently published study that found a connection between language access and health outcomes. The study was conducted in collaboration with HealthPartners Institute as part CGHSR's National Resource Center for Refugees, Immigrants, and Migrants (NRC-RIM) at the University of Minnesota.

The Center for Global Health and Social Responsibility (CGHSR) has opened registration for two fall semester courses available to UMN students and community members. 

Global health research is at the core of sustainable solutions, but it can be difficult for junior researchers to find funding to get their research off the ground. For Richard MacLehose and Jennifer Rickard, Seed Grants have been a catalyst.

CGHSR requests proposals for our annual Global Health Seed Grants program. This year there is also a special interest call for research projects specifically pertaining to women's health. Proposals are due May 19.
