Sophie Watson is a Program Assistant for the Center for Global Health and Social Responsibility (CGHSR) where she supports the Global Women's Health Program and director Dr. Rahel Nardos in local and global women's health equity initiatives, programs, and events.
Sophie also works as a Program Assistant for the Center for Women in Medicine and Science (CWIMS) within the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at UMN. In this role since May 2019, she supports diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and CWIMS communications, events, Action Group meetings and projects, and other work to achieve gender equity within the Medical School.
Sophie received her bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies - Arabic from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Originally from Maryland, she currently resides in Minneapolis alongside her partner, cat Dunder, and a burgeoning garden of houseplants.
