Sophie Watson is a Senior Research Coordinator at the Center for Global Health and Social Responsibility (CGHSR). In this role, she supports global health research initiatives and CGHSR funding programs by coordinating project operations, facilitating collaboration across research teams, and contributing to program development and evaluation efforts.

Her work includes supporting an NIH-funded R01 study and leading the development and administration of CGHSR grant programs including Global Engagement Grants and Seed to R01 Accelerator Grants. She works closely with faculty, research teams, and CGHSR staff to support project implementation and strengthen program infrastructure.

Sophie received her bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in Arabic from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Her previous work includes supporting gender equity initiatives through the University’s Center for Women in Medicine and Science.

Originally from Maryland, she now lives in Minneapolis with her partner and cat Dunder, and enjoys exploring the outdoors and tending to her growing collection of houseplants.
