USAID Liaison at the University of Minnesota

CGHSR welcomes Dr. Lindy Fenlason MD MPH, Senior Nutrition and Capacity Building Advisor at USAID to the University of Minnesota. In the first position of its kind, Dr. Fenlason is serving as a liaison between USAID and the University of Minnesota with the goal of strengthening partnerships between USAID and academia, exploring and expanding mutually beneficial connections and promoting the expertise housed in both institutions.

Dr. Fenlason is a Nutrition, Health and Capacity Building Advisor and Board-Certified Pediatrician with over 15 years of clinical and public health experience, including 7 years of cumulative work in resource-challenged settings in sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Her work has focused on best practices in clinical care and programming in HIV, maternal child health, and the malnutrition spectrum: from traditional undernutrition of wasting and stunting to the under/inadequate nutrition of obesity and the rise in noncommunicable diseases (NCDs).

She is available to provide guidance in the areas of global nutrition, child health, and career growth, as well as to assist faculty in learning how to work with USAID, making appropriate connections, and in identifying mutual capacity-building opportunities. She looks forward to learning about and from the rich expertise at the UMN as she advances the connections between institutions.
