Sol Perez is the Latin America Network Coordinator in CGHSR. In this role, she works to identify and support the implementation of initiatives to expand UMN research collaborations with regional institutions. She also manages the Seed Grants program and the Faculty Travel Award. 

Sol holds a shared appointment between CGHSR and the Center for Animal Health and Food Safety (CAHFS) in the College of Veterinary Medicine, where she has the role of International Research Development Program Leader and Deputy Director.

She received her DVM and, subsequently, her Ph.D. in animal virology and vaccine development from the Faculty of Veterinary Science at the University of Buenos Aires.  Among her multiple interests, she is interested in exploring new approaches to improve collaborative research practice in resource-constrained settings as a critical driver to improve global health.
