Heidi Eschenbacher, PhD
Project Manager & Evaluator
Heidi Eschenbacher has experience as a project manager, implementer, applied researcher, and evaluator in global education, disability research, and humanitarian assistance. At the Center for Global Health and Social Responsibility, she contributes the project management of fellowship and faculty mentorship programs, evaluations, and the formulation and development of initiatives. Heidi has worked most extensively in Zambia, South Sudan, Kenya, Uganda, Cambodia and Eswatini. She has collaborated on projects based in Afghanistan and Bangladesh. Common themes in her ongoing work are system strengthening, applied research and evaluation, organizational and social change through policy and advocacy, and active partnerships that involve learning by doing with humility.
Heidi has a PhD in Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development with an emphasis in Comparative Education and an Evaluation Minor from the University of Minnesota. She obtained her master's degree from Clark University in International Development and Social Change with an emphasis in Geographic Information Systems and Geography. Her bachelor’s degree was from the University of Minnesota in Chinese Language and International Relations.
