UMN Partnership with United Nations Migration Agency (IOM) for Refugee Care

August 1, 2018

The University of Minnesota is partnering with the United Nations Migration Agency (IOM) to build the Agency’s capacity to perform health screening and health assessments for US-bound refugees. CGHSR organizes trainings in Minnesota, around the world, and online for U.N. physicians, nurses, laboratorians, and other health care professionals. U of M faculty and other partners deliver the training, covering topics such as physical examination; infectious disease diagnosis and treatment; and working with interpreters. They also host IOM providers and staff as they receive training on the US refugee resettlement process. Learn more about the project and partnership.
