Request for Proposals: Global Engagement Grants

Global Engagement Grants

The Center for Global Health and Social Responsibility is requesting proposals for Global Engagement Grants, funding that supports novel approaches to global health designed to promote sustainability and equity.

University of Minnesota faculty, staff and graduate students are welcome to submit a proposal. The deadline to submit a proposal is Monday, Oct. 28, 2024, at 11:59 CDT.

Global Engagement Grants offer funding for innovative projects that do not necessarily fall into a single category of research, education, or capacity-building, but are perhaps a blend of all three.

These grants range from $1,500 to $15,000 and support work that includes:

  • New global health initiatives or pilot projects
  • Projects that align with the CGHSR mission beyond traditional research projects, including capacity building activities with international partners
  • Projects that address the determinants of health and recognize the broader context of health and well-being, including social, political, and economic factors, physical environment, health behaviors, access to healthcare, and more.

Applicants are encouraged to request amounts below the $15,000 maximum, as applying for a smaller amount increases the likelihood of receiving a grant and supports our goal of funding more projects.
