CGHSR releases 2024 annual report

The Center for Global Health and Social Responsibility has released its 2024 annual report.

The report outlines CGHSR’s work in global health education, training and research in 2024 in addition to acknowledging the partners, both international and locally, who helped to make these accomplishments possible.

“This work couldn’t have happened without the support of our international colleagues and the University of Minnesota community. We are incredibly grateful for your continued partnership and look forward to what we’ll accomplish in 2025 and beyond,” wrote CGHSR Executive Director Shailey Prasad, MD, MPH, in the report’s letter from the director.

Key accomplishments in 2024 include:

  • Partnering with UMN faculty from across 7 UMN colleges to operationalize research in more than a dozen countries
  • Engaging students from 16 different UMN schools and colleges, across and beyond the health sciences, in global health education initiatives
  • Hosting international postdocs and students from 13 countries for research training
  • Providing opportunities for global health education, training, and research that spanned 16 countries
  • Joining our partners at the Uganda National Academy of Sciences to release a consensus study that emphasizes social responsibility in global health partnerships
