Global Health Case Competition

Applications are now open for the Center for Global Health and Social Responsibility’s 2025 Global Health Case Competition

Applications are open until Dec. 2. Teams will be notified if they’ve been accepted in early December. 

The case competition is open to UMN graduate and upper-level undergraduate students and provides an opportunity to work with an interprofessional group of peers and solve a global health case. The winning team will move on to the international competition at Emory University.

Eligibility

Graduate, professional, and upper-level undergraduate students from UMN are welcome to apply. Students may apply as an individual or as a team.

We hope to involve students from across the health sciences, College of Food, Agriculture and Natural Resource Sciences, the Humphrey School, the Carlson School, Law School, Science and Engineering, Liberal Arts and more – anyone with an interest in global health solutions is invited to participate!

Competition Dates

This year’s competition will begin on Jan. 22 with a required team training session and finish on Feb. 1, the day of the final round competition. The first place team will then go on to compete at the 2025 International Emory Global Health Case Competition. The competition will take place in March of 2025.

Winners Travel to Emory University!

In addition to a $3,000 prize, the first place team of CGHSR's competition will win the opportunity to compete in person at the Emory University international competition in Atlanta, Georgia — including round trip airfare to Atlanta, accommodations, and meals provided by CGHSR and Emory. The second place team also receives a cash prize from CGHSR.
