Applications Open for Global Health Course in India
Applications are now open for the Center for Global Health and Social Responsibility’s course in India, which takes place over the university’s winter break.
India: Global Health, Globalization and Leadership is a three-week course open to UMN graduate students, faculty, staff, alumni and members of the general public. UMN graduate students are eligible to take the class for academic credit (GHSR 6715, 3 cr.).

The course will provide a global health learning experience with field observations in Mysore, India, and allow participants to learn about health and health care delivery in the context of globalization in India.
The course explores the significance of the social determinants of health in a globalized world, with a focus on health systems, economic growth and development, and their effects on wellbeing. Students will also learn the leadership skills needed to function in the fields of global health and development through an intensive leadership workshop.
Additionally, participants will collaboratively observe grassroot-level activities in public health, health care delivery, and other community activities

- Course dates: Dec. 29, 2025 – Jan. 14, 2026
- Expected travel dates are: departing the U.S. on Dec. 27, 2025, and arriving back in the U.S. on Jan. 15, 2026.

Application
Students will complete and submit their application through the UMN Learning Abroad Center. Applications are open until Oct. 1, 2025.

Course Information Session
