Our upcoming events
Despite an historic April blizzard, Global Health Day had impressive attendance and, with student presenters representing ten different schools and colleges, was a successful showcase of the breadth and depth of global health work happening across the disciplines at the University of Minnesota. CGHSR extends many thanks to everyone who braved the weather to attend. Congratulations again to those selected and recognized as our Student & Scholar Oral Presenter and to the winners of Outstanding Poster awards.
CGHSR is excited to announce that the UMN Global Health Case Compeition team earned both Second Place and tied for the Participants' Choice Award at the 2018 International Emory Global Health Case Compeition this past weekend at Emory University. The multidisciplinary team spent a full week examining the case, "An Epidemic Offsides: Containing an Outbreak During the 2022 World Cup in Qatar". Twenty-four teams from colleges and universities across the world presented their proposals and four advanced to the final round.
Congratulations to Maryia Bakhtsiyarava who will be hosted by CGHSR as an Interdisciplinary Doctoral Fellow (IDF) to advance her research project “Climate and Child Nutrition: An Interdisciplinary Framework to Uncover the Linkages.” Maryia is pursuing a PhD in Geography and will be mentored by Sarah Cusick (School of Public Health) as part of the fellowship. Learn more about the IDF and the rest of the 2018-2019 Fellows.
