Our Goal

The overall strategic goal of the Center on Global Health and Social Responsibility (CGHSR) is to build the AHC Global Health presence in collaborations that promote clinical research, education and outreach.

Specific activities to achieve this goal include:

• Integrating functions (interdisciplinary, intercollegiate)
• Communication (web-based clearing house)
• Scholarship (Research and Education)- grants (seed money) for faculty, students
• Collaborations with institutions in other countries
• Focus on developing countries and immigrants/refugees in Minnesota

Impact of Achieving This Goal: Building the AHC global presence in collaborations that promote clinical research and inter-professional training will help meet the University's goal to achieve pre-eminence as a public research university.

Initiatives to Achieve This Goal: Recent health and clinical research collaborations in India, China, and other developing as well as developed countries, now necessitate establishing the infrastructure to sustain and build these efforts.
